Spark Master Tape – “Lost VHS” AI Music Video (Unofficial Fan Project)
Role: Creative Director, Visual Designer, Editor, AI Animator
This fan-made project was a creative challenge I set for myself — to build an entire rap music video without a camera, set, or crew. Just AI, editing, and vision. The artist was Spark Master Tape — a masked, anonymous, cult-favorite rapper whose raw, surreal sound demanded something just as enigmatic in visual form.
I set out to create a video that felt like it was unearthed from an analog vault — gritty, unsettling, and cinematic. The result was a handcrafted AI-assisted visual experience that matched Spark’s mythos without ever showing a face or logo. This was not AI for convenience. It was AI as a creative weapon.
Responsibilities:
-
Directed the full visual concept inspired by Spark Master Tape’s tone and underground identity
-
Built original scenes using MidJourney, focusing on shot composition, lighting, character design, and emotion mapping
-
Animated stills with Kling AI, fine-tuning motion to align with the cadence and attitude of the verse
-
Manually edited final footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, applying VHS overlays, CRT effects, artificial compression, and glitch design to match a degraded analog aesthetic
-
Controlled pacing, visual rhythm, and scene transitions to create tension and immersion throughout the video
Tools Used:
-
MidJourney for shot design and visual direction
-
Kling AI for animating custom sequences with intentional movement and timing
-
Premiere Pro for editing, compositing, and analog effects without stock filters
Outcome:
-
Delivered a cinematic, eerie music video that felt unearthed and unauthorized — like something not meant to be seen
-
Earned recognition for its emotional tone, style consistency, and visual depth despite being fan-made
-
Proved that with the right tools and creative direction, a solo creator can build an entire world with no crew, no budget, and no compromise
