Dr Disrespect x TimTheTatman – Slap Parody Thumbnail

This was my first official thumbnail design used by Dr Disrespect and the moment that launched my creative partnership with his team. On the night of the infamous Will Smith Oscars slap, I quickly designed a parody version featuring Doc slapping TimTheTatman. The image was created, posted, and circulated within hours — tapping into real-time internet culture while staying on-brand with Doc’s persona.

The post went viral overnight. Less than 24 hours later, I was contacted by Dr Disrespect’s lead artist asking for permission to use it as the official stream thumbnail. That single moment elevated my visibility within the Champions Club and ultimately led to me joining Doc’s creative team full-time within the month.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualized and designed a parody thumbnail based on a live cultural moment

  • Created and posted the image within hours of the Oscars event, maximizing timing and viral potential

  • Maintained brand consistency while using humor and visual exaggeration to match Doc’s online identity

  • Collaborated with Doc’s creative lead artist to finalize usage for the stream

Outcome:

  • Thumbnail was used as the official promo image for Doc’s March 28, 2022 stream with TimTheTatman

  • Went viral across Twitter and YouTube, generating thousands of reactions and fan reposts

  • Earned direct recognition from Dr Disrespect’s team and secured my role as a creative contributor

  • Marked the beginning of my professional journey with one of gaming’s biggest personal brands
